RING CAKE “GUGELHUPF”

Description:


Ring Cake„Gugelhupf“ with Egg Liqueur - Advocaat- perfect for dessert or with coffee.

ingredients:

Ring Cake –“Gugelhupf”:
  • 5 eggs
  • 250 g of powdered sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1/2 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 piece lemon (zest)
  • 250 ml oil Special (with fine butter flavour)
  • 250 g flour
  • 1/2 packet of baking powder
  • 250 ml Egg Liqueur - Advocaat

Glaze:
  • 100 g of powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Egg Liqueur - Advocaat

Preparation:


For Egg Liqueur – Advocaat “Gugelhupf” Ring Cake, preheat the oven to 170 ° C (top and bottom heat).
Sprinklecake-form with oil or butter and flour.
Mix flour with baking powder and sieve.
Separate the eggs (white & yolks).
Whisk egg yolks with 150 g of powdered sugar, salt, vanilla sugar and grated lemon zest, until really fluffy, at least 10 minutes.
The oil with a fine buttery taste, stirslowly,constantly. Beat the egg whites together with the remaining sugar into a stiff “snow”.
First mix the flour and then add the Egg Liqueur - Advocaat to the mix. Lastly, gently mix-in the beaten“snow”.
Place the mixture into the prepared pan, spread evenly and bake in the oven on the lowest rail for about 50 minutes.
Take the Ring Cake from the oven, let cool for about 10 minutes and then take it out of cake-shape.
For the glaze use the icing sugar with Egg Liqueur –Advocaat and mix well.
Put the glaze in a paper decoration-cone to decorate the Ring Cake with Egg Liqueur – Advocaat using easy turning movements. You can also cut 100 g nougat into small cubes and add to the mixture.
This Ring Cake “Gugelhupf” with Egg Liqueur - Advocaatis very suitable for freezing. Wrap in plastic when warm, allow to cool, thenplace in the freezer.
